Old School RuneScape fans have a fresh challenge to tackle as Leagues V – Raging Echoes begins, bringing its competitive mode back to life. Running until January 22nd, 2025, this seasonal event invites you to experience Gielinor with revamped mechanics and an emphasis on skilful play. The next eight weeks are about to be absolutely action-packed in the beloved MMORPG.
Leagues V – Raging Echoes has always been a fan-favourite competitive mode in RuneScape and its highly anticipated return to OSRS means you can enjoy it once more. If you’re new to this, you start with your journey with a fresh character and must clear quests, gain points, and unlock relics to progress through new regions filled with increasingly difficult challenges.
A lot of the old mechanics also come back. Area-locking makes its return as a staple feature of Leagues, and Enhanced Bosses ensure battles demand sharp strategy and skill. For those who enjoy experimenting, Theorycrafting allows you to test different approaches as you plan your way through the League.
With the old, you can also look forward to some new features to keep things fresh. The latest addition is Combat Mastery, which completely shifts the way you progress through the league. It works alongside the Relic System, giving you control over the buffs and boosts you bring into fights. It’s a system designed to change how you adapt and grow as you face tougher tasks.
Most people (I assume at least) use some sort of 3rd party client, however it can be intimidating for a new player. There’s tons of things available to make the game easier to understand on these clients, with tons of plugins to assist you, but it can quickly feel overwhelming, especially if you’re a new or returning player. I’d personally recommend you download the official client, available at the official RuneScape website, and when you’re feeling comfortable with how the game works, look for a good third party client that you like and see what it has to offer. Best of luck!
