The Raging Echoes League is the upcoming fifth League in Old School Runescape. The League was announced during the Summer Summit 2024 and was supposed to begin on 27 November 2024 (1:00PM GMT), lasting 8 weeks, and ending on 22 January 2025.
The League carries forward the region-locking mechanic of Trailblazer League and Trailblazer Reloaded League with the additional option of Varlamore, and new content such as Echo Bosses.
Overview
The Raging Echoes League will be a temporary game mode with a unique ruleset that fundamentally changes the gameplay experience. Players begin with most regions of the game locked and will be able to unlock new ones by completing tasks and accumulating league points. At certain point thresholds, players will be able to select powerful relics that affect skilling, combat, or provide extra utility. Raging Echoes follows the format of the previous Trailblazer and Trailblazer Reloaded leagues, adding new features such as combat masteries and more difficult boss versions called echoes. Players can view their progress and accomplishments by viewing their summary interface in their settings.
Changes from Trailblazer Reloaded League
- The region of Varlamore will be unlockable
- Combat masteries, which offer bonuses to combat as a separate progression system from relics
- Echo variants of existing bosses
- All three mega rare raid items (twisted bow, scythe of vitur, and tumeken’s shadow) can be obtained from any of the three raids
- Multiple unique drops are obtainable from Tombs of Amascut and Theatre of Blood when certain conditions are met:
- Teamwide purples can only be awarded in ToA with a raid level of 500+
- Teamwide purples can only be awarded in ToB: Hard Mode
- Vardorvis, Duke Sucellus and The Whisperer will no longer require the Kharidian Desert to be unlocked. In addition, the Stranglewood and Vardorvis will be moved from Kourend and Kebos to Varlamore, accessable via a league navigator in northern Varlamore.
- Potions and ingredients sourced during the Duke Sucellus fight will no longer be removed from your inventory when waking Duke
- Zulrah will not be immune to any melee damage that can reach, and will have no damage cap
- Instances have been created for Cerberus, Sarachnis, and the Thermonuclear Smoke Devil, and the timer when attempting to enter a Dagannoth Kings instance shortly after leaving has been removed
- XP rewards from Soul Wars and Pest Control will be disabled
- The max cape will now be available for purchase from The Sage in Lumbridge for all players
- Rocks, trees, respawnable items, and main-world npcs will respawn faster than the main game. (3x in most cases, and much higher in other cases such as Runite Rocks)
- Pet cosmetic overrides are now carried over between Leagues, including any that players have unlocked in the Trailblazer Reloaded League
- Clans can now toggle shared Leagues related broadcasts including relic, area, rank, and combat mastery achievements
- Additional new content added since the previous League includes:
- Armoured zombies
- Skilling and combat rebalances

Rules
Player restrictions
As with all previous leagues, all players will be an Ironman.
Players will start with a 5x accelerated experience rate for skills, and begin with level 3 Herblore and level 5 Runecraft. The XP multiplier increases further at specific relic tiers. Players will also be able to claim a free dramen staff from The Sage in the Lumbridge Courtyard to access Zanaris.
Certain quests will be automatically completed at the start of the league such as Dragon Slayer I, Druidic Ritual, and Fairytale II – Cure a Queen to enable travel and access to skills. Other quests and diary tasks will be completed as players unlock other regions if they unlock substantial content for the region.
Area restrictions
Players will begin their journey with only the regions of Misthalin and Karamja available. Further areas can be unlocked by completing a certain amount of tasks. A maximum of three new regions can be unlocked.
- Unlockable areas include the Wilderness, the Fremennik Isles, Asgarnia, Morytania, the Kharidian Desert, Kandarin, Tirannwn, Kourend and Kebos, and Varlamore.
- Players will be able to travel to unlocked regions with waystones and can only set respawns in unlocked areas.
Accommodations due to region locking
- Box traps will be added to general stores and will be usable without having Eagles Peak completed.
- Pestle and mortars and fishing bait will be added to the Lumbridge General Store.
- Elemental shield will be added to all slayer shops.
- Death’s office, the player-owned house, random events and the rune essence mines will be accessible from all areas.
- Slayer tasks will be limited to creatures found in the areas a player has unlocked, and all Slayer Masters will assign the same tasks.
- Treasure Trail steps will be limited to the areas a player has unlocked.
- Mahogany Homes contracts will be limited to the areas a player has unlocked.
- When purchasing a house, it will be placed in Brimhaven rather than Rimmington, to allow training of Construction from level 1.
- The twisted bow, scythe of Vitur, and Tumeken’s shadow will be available from all three raids. Instead of the mega rare dropping, it will instead drop a mega rare voucher that can be exchanged at The Sage in Lumbridge for any of the three weapons.
- The scythe of Vitur will be charged with only blood runes.
- All Soulreaper axe pieces will drop from every member of the Forgotten Four.
- The Hunters’ crossbow will be purchasable in the Charter Ship store by the Sunset Coast, to allow for the creation of the Hunters’ sunlight crossbow if the Varlamore region is taken and Kandarin isn’t.
